WHAREROA.

A \ery successful concert and dance was lield at AYliareroa on Friday evening. The organisation work was carried out by Mrs. Benton and Miss Death, and the large audience was emphatic in expressing appreciation ol the entertainment provided. The comedy poition was ably sustained by Mrs. I-lolmes. Messrs tlardenberg, and K -Metleri; Miss Joan Ton Its contributed elocutionary items; the Misses hay, dances; Miss i.MoOlashan and Mi". H. Steflert, songs; while the ■overture was played by Miss Benton, who acted as accompanist during the evening. A number of choruses were sung by the YVhareroa school children. The concluding item was a song, ‘"Sons and Daughters of the Empire,” a concerted number in which Miss Death appeared as “Britannia.” After supper the hall was cleared for dancing, the music for which was supplied by Masdames Ho’in os, ’Ex ley, and Messrs StefieYt brothers.
