NEWTON KING, LTD. MORRIS CARS. Tt can safely be said that in all the motor exhibits the ear that shows the most marked improvement since last year is the Morris. Not only has the general attractiveness of the whole range of models been greatly improved, but very many important improvements have been incorporated both in the coach work and chassis. The new standard of value set by this new range of models is such that it is sure to make a strong appeal all over the world. The general advance in design lias been carried out without alteration to the fundamental details, which, of course, have so largely contributed towards the proven reliability, economy and general trustworthiness of Morris vehicles. In the new chassis the engine, gear box, back axle and transmission remain unchanged except for a few minor’ improvements. The new chassis frame, however, is entirely redesigned. The old three-quarter elliptic v rear springs have disappeared and are replaced by long semi-elliptic underslung springs of great flexibility, and the frame, which is of deeper section and tapered in plain view, is of far more rigid and substantial structure than hitherto. The combination of the new springing system and Smith single acting shock absorbers, now fitted as standard equipment, results in greatly improved riding comfort. The fourwheel brakes system, which has been redesigned, is now of the more direct type, and every brake now has a separate individual adjustment which is simple to operate and easy to get at. Another important improvement is the incorporation of an all-steel dash, in which is housed the petrol tank. This dash serves as a rigid support for the new and attractive steel facia board, in which all the instruments are neatly grouped in an oval panel. The alteration which catches the eye is the new flat-fronted radiator, which replaces the old D shaped one, thus at' fording more comfortable coachwork, which, moreover, possesses improved lines. In addition, the new radiator provides an increase in cooling capacity of over fit) per cent., which should enable the. engine to withstand the hardest and most gruelling service under any climate conditions, without boiling. Describing the coachwork generally, very much improved lines arc achieved. The major improvement incorporated, perhaps, is that on all models doors are now provided on both sides. There is no doubt that the new world
