EVE GOES MOTORING.

AlllS TO COSINESS. The comfort of the woman motorist is well catered for by many London Arms. All unnecessary bulkiness is eliminated from the newest motor coats of tweed and even of leather. The small neat hats fitting closely to the head enable a big fur collar to be turned up without inconvenience. Waterproof velvet is a favourite material for motor hats, doubtless liecause it is so soft to the head and enables the wearer to lean against the ear cushions in perfect comfort. To keep the feet warm there are various models of overshoes and foot-muffs and those who have to take long motor journeys to dances can don 44-gauge silk stockings and the lightest of evening shoes knowing that tlieir feet will be cosy and well protected. For feminine wear there are overshoes of lamb’s wool of various colours, both sides of the skin being used and dyed. The outside is of closely curled wool and for the lining the fluffy side is used. There are hard wearing gloves of sheepskin, pigskin and washable goatskin, and added warmth is given to brown kid gloves by a lining of chamois leather. A wrap overskirt is the most comfortable and very short skirts which leave the knees exposed should he avoided, although there are such things as knee-muffs! But these, let it be whispered, are meant to be worn in bed and make a very comfy present for “Cranny.” They are made either of flannel bound with ribbon or knitted in wool. For the bridge player, the little bridge coat is a great comfort these cliilly nights and can so easily be slipped on over a thin frock. The ideal material is velvet and when it is lined with white and has a white flower in the buttonhole is a very satisfactory accessory.
