The C ivic League with the hearty support of the .Mayor Mr Troup, who is at his wits ends in regard to the unemployment problem proposes to set up u community fund, it decided that steps be taken by way ol an appeal to the general body of citizens to do at; they can individually, and through their various societies, to further the two objects, first to push forward any small works by ■which deserving men may be Employed, and second, that e.eVyone who is jn employment should contribute some portion ol their means towards the establishment of a community fund, which will go towards finding employment for an additional number of men.
