OPERA HOUSE, TO-NIGHT. “THE WALTZ DREAM.” Vienna before the war. Be twitching mad Vienna, with its light-hearted gaiety ,its capricious disregard of the conventions, its singing and its waltzes forms the background of a. charming yet virile story. From royal palace, stately regal and solemn, to the wine gardens of old Vienna, where love and wine and song mingle gaily, tliei romance of it princess grows in “The Waltz Dream,” a new Exhibitors Alliance film, which commences a twonight season at the Opera House tonight. “The Waltz Dream” was tho biggest hit of the New York theatrical season some years ago on the legitimate stage. A cast of extraordinary talent and appeal interpret the screen version of ‘‘The Waltz Dream. ’> Mady Christians, Willy Frits eh and: Xenia Desni have the principal roles. The Eton College -Boy, who is i>resenting a. violin act of exceptional charm and novelty in conjunction with the picture programme, is an entertainer who has toured extensively with famous artists, and knows how to please all audiences. The performer caters for all tastes, but be it classical or jazz numbers that lie plays, his act has always that touch of refinement that appeals to everyone. He will give a complete- change of programme tonight. GRAND THEATRE—TO-NIGHT. ‘ ‘WHISPERING WIRES. ’’ ‘‘Whispering Wires,” Fox Films latest mystery comedy, is based on the noted stage success of the same name which thrilled Broadway for almost a year. The stage play was considered bv press and public a.s one of the finest ever presented on the American stage. Pre-view critics have pronounced the film version even better-, owing to the virtually unlimited -scope of the camera. Many' scenes not possible on the stage have been, incorporated ill the screen version, which comes to the Grand Theatre, to-night for a two-night season, commencing to-night. The story of “Whispering Wires” is by Henry Leverage. The play was written bv Kate MeLauwm. L. L. Rio-by prepared the scenario and Albert Ray "directed the production. Beautiful Anita Stewart is the- featured player. Edmund Burns Fas the leading male role. The supporting programme includes the serial “Strings of Steel.
