SUCCESSFUL CLEARING SALE. A most successful clearing sale was conducted on Wednesday, 15th June by Newton King, Ltd., on account of Mr. Bob Stevenson, Piliama, when his fine herd of ninety dairy cows was disposed of under the hammer. The cattle were an excellent lot and the pieces were remarkably even /throughout. Good young cows made from £lO to £ls and a few old ones sold at from £7 10s to £9. Leaving oui tlie three-quarter cows, the herd made the excellent average of £lO 15s per cow. Vendor ’s milk waggon realised £39 and his waggon horses sold at. £29 and £4O respectively.
