Fighting their way through a fog ol blinding smoke, while burning timbers crackled and fell about them, Malcolm Anderson, his wife and three children escaped death in their beds when a fire destroyed their home early this morning, tiie second occasion in sixteen months. The house, which is situated in Lincoln Road, was behinl one of two shops. Now all are in ashes. The insurances were £IOOO.

The neighbours had to come to tlie family’s assistance, as they escaped in the street clad only in their night attire.
