The system is planned with retereilce to water powers, coal fields, the existing high voltage transmission hues the centres of principal power consumption and the trans-continental railways. It is pointed out that, under this system, power now Avasted would be utilised, involving the saving of millions annually. The sponsors are attempting to overcome some State legislation under which the plan cannot, at present-, be accepted.
