As the result of a head-on collision on the Foxton-Palmerston North road yesterday afternoon, two young men named Ernest Graham, aged 18 years, and Gordon Pereau, aged 21 yeans, residents of Foxton, are now in hospital l , at Palmerston North, each, with a fractured leg. Both were on a motor-cycle, pillion fashion, proceeding home, when they collided with a car driven by J. A Russell, of Palmerston North, who, it" is .stated, pulled over to the righthand side of the road to overtake another car. The motor-cycle was a complete wreck, and the car suffered damage to the radiator. —Press Assn. must run its. course. An attack of whooping cough can neither he checked nor shortened.
