X TENNIS BALL.
In ,spite of the inclemency of the weather there was. a very large attendance last week at the annual tennis ball. Everyone present was delighted with the splendid arrangements, which were due. largely to the secretary, Miss F. Seed, and the committee, who all worked well to ensure the big success | achieved. The. nett profit was in the]' vicinity of five pounds, which will help, materially towards the funds of the club ' as it has recently had 1 the courts re-]~ tarred and sanded.
EUCHRE! AND DANCE.
The second fortnightly euchre and dance was again (attended in large numbers and everyone was well pleased with the proceedings. The ladies' prize tins time was won by Mins.-El. Scott and the gentlemen’s by Mr. E. Taylor. The prizes were a beautiful clock for the lady and a thermos flask for the main. GENERAL.
Our factory engineer is on iris annual holiday, and expects to return on Saturday . Mr. El. Beech, who has been suffering from a severe attack oi sciatica is now about again. Coughs and colds seenii to be very prevalent, almost every family has one or the other. Mr. 0. Willis has again topped the 'list in. the root crop competition, and therefore wins the Sutton cup for mangolds. He is to be oongnat u;la ted on winning this important trophy. . . .
