OPERA HOUSE, TO-NIGHT,
HOUSE PETERS IN A CURWOOD
STOISY.
James Oliver Curwood is admittedly the master writer of Canadian adventure stories, and his “Quest of Joan/' as made by Universal into “Prisoners of the Storm/’ with House Peters in the splendid role of Bucky Malone, is completely satisfying in all the requirements of entertainment. The story, in short, is of a girl who _ sets out to find her father, who has disappeared after closing his mine and starting for town for the winter. With her companions, she is trapped by a blizzard in a small cabin in the wilds, and imprisoned there for weeks by the drifts which surround the house. Her father’s mining partner, and a wounded North-West Mounted policeman are also in the cabin, and during the imprisonment she discovers evidence which leads her to believe that the former has murdered her parent, and her love for him turns to hate. An excellent supporting programme, a “(Snookums’’ comedy.
