EGYPTIAN POLITICS.
A STORM BREWING
BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT
CAIRO, May 28
A political storm, which ha® been brewing for some time, seems likely to be precipitated by a Note handed, to Lord Lloyd (British High Commissioner) by Sarwat Pasha disputing the authority of the High Commissioner to interfere in army matters. Sarwat Pasha claims that army reorganisation was not mentioned in the negotiation® resulting the declaration of independence in 1922.
The tone of the newspaper® and of Parliament does not encourage the hope of an early settlement.
