HELP FOR CHINA

WHEN FREE OF MOSCOW.

BRITISH SYMPATHY.

PRIME MINISTER’S STATEMENT,

BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.

Received 2.20 p.m. to-day. LONDON, May 27

The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Stanley Baldwin, addressing women unionists in Albert Hall, said: “The -Chinese, if they can free themselves from the Moscow incubus, will not find us difficult to deal with. The moment a voice arises able to -speak for China the end of tho trouble will be within sight. We are sympathetic towards China because she has suffered from the interference of a powerful oligarchy which, in the name of freedom, is attempting to enslave millions of Russians. Wo have decided to end that interference in Britain, because it is intolerable, because their agents are hostile and unfriendly to Britain. Throughout the world their propaganda represents tho British -policy as aimed at wut and based on forgery. I emphatically state that the rupture does not imply war in any way, .but merely no further political dealings with Moscow. AngloRussian trade will enjoy the same facilities as other countries.” —A.P.A. and “Sun.”
