THIRSTY AMERICANS.

READY TO RUSH TO ONTARIO

BUT ARE BADLY" DISAPPOINTED

BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT

OTTAWA, Alay 26. Americans who are arranging to hasten to Ontario coincident with the lifting of the liquor ban, Ontario 1 laving reverted to license, will be sadly disappointed according to an announcement made by the Ontario Liquor Board, which forbids purchase without a permit.

Air. D. B. Hannia, chairman of the board, declared: “We have nothing against cur American friends, but they must be contented with standing around: and watching how it is possible to protect a liquor store with dignity and propriety.” Owing to the impossibility of Americans obtaining permits, the board has delivered: a terrific blow to thirsty thousands in the United States. Special trains which were arranged to accommodate the anticipated rush now will unquestionably be cancelled unless the regulations are modified.
