RIVERLEA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

EIJCHRF. PARTY. The fortnighly euchre party was held on Tuesday evening, when there was again a good attendance and an enjoyable evening’s fun. The ladies' prize, a teapot, was won by Mrs Rothe with eight game.s, Mrs Gardner being runner-up with seven. Mr A. P. Gargan proved to be the winner of the gentlemen’s prize, a handsome scarf. He also won eight games, -with Mr J. Malone and Mr W. H. Franks as runners-up with seven each.

TENNIS CLUB

A meeting of the Tennis Club was held .on Monday evening, when a scheme to * provide shelter at the courts was discussed. It is proposed to erect a temporary shelter fence and plant, a live fence alongside, but- nothing definite was settled, and a further meeting is to he held to arrange final details.

THE LOCAL STORE

Mr and Mrs A. H. W. Sliaw, who have been storekeeping here for some years, intend leaving shortly. It is understood that Messrs Davison and Kehely. of Knponga, are taking over the business.

GENER AL NOTES

The local school reopened in common with all the others on Monday after the term holidays. The first term of the year is a somewhat unsatisfactory one. it is short to begin with, and then is considerably broken by holidays of one sort or another including, this year, a full week at Easter. The factory turned on to every second day running on Friday last, though cheese is still iieing made. For the first day on every other day 21 full weight cheeses were manufactured.
