LONDON, May 24. At the Hoylake golf tournament, an unemployed 19-year-old Birkenhead labourer, named Sutton, brilliantly defeated the Walker Cup winner and Scottish international, W. Torrance, 4 up and 3 to play. Tlie remaining two Americans were defeated and also the British players Cave, Hayward, Bretherton, Hannav, Bristowe and Blackwell. The latter w r as a victim to the Australian Grimwade, 2 up and 1 to play. Macßeth, of Bowden, defeated the father of the competing Australian champion, Bob Nettleford, 4 up and 3 to play. Notable successes have been achieved by Aylmer, Storey, Grant, Hardman, and Gillies.
