WITH MINIATURE RIFLES. Interest in the Hawera Miniature Rifle Club as being steadily maintained, and with the introduction of ladder m'atches the attendance at each meeting is good. Several challenge matches have been fired to date, and last week a further challenge for the club buttons was issued, but the holders again proved too' strong. The score of the challengers was two points better than that -which successfully retained the buttons the previous week, but the holders replied with lai score which constitutes a record for the club for a number of seasons. Details of the score® are : Challengers.—Mias J. Rae 50, Mrs. Rue 47, W. Spooner 48, F. Rae 49; total 194. Holders. —Mrs. Vealei 49, Miss E. Riae 49, P. O. Veal© 49, P. Petersen 50: total 197. Competitions for Miss J. Rae’s trophy are now in progress, and will be concluded on June 10.
