HAAVERA CLUB. COMMITTEE MEETING. At a meeting of the committee of the Hawera Football Club, Air J. J. Goodwin presided, and) there was .a good, attendance of members. Appreciation of the loan of a copy of the rules of the club was recen ed from the Clifton Club. The Pirates Club (Wanganui) wrote thanking the club committee for the enjoyable time given by them during the visit to Hawera on Easter Saturday. BARTLETT CUP. The secretary of the Aramoho Club wrote that the suggested date, for the Bartlett Cup between Hawera and Aramoho thirds, June 3, would) be suitable, play to commence at 1 p.m., so that they could conclude before the senior representative fixture on . the same day. The Aramoho committee was making arrangements to entertain the Hawera boys. The club agreed that Easter Saturday would be very suitable in future. OKAIAWA FIXTURE. The postponed senior match with Okaiawa, which should have been played last Wednesday, was proposed by Okaiawa to be played on June 8. This matter was left to be decided after consultation with the players. SELECTION OF TEAMS.
The matter of players going up to juniors who are now playing with the thirds was brought up, and- was the cams© of considerable discussion. Several 1 considered that players should be classified, and that the Selection Committee should, decide this question. It was resolved that the matter be left to the selectors. TROPHIES. Donations or trophies were received from Mrs M. Gibson (donation), Messrs C. E. Falkiner and B. C. Bennett (medals), R.. T. Bullock and Bennett and 1 Sutton (footballs). An offer of a cup was received) from Air E. Oann, and it was resolved to suggest that this be a. trophy for competition annually between Hawera and Athletics seniors, on lines similar to the Dan O’Brien Shield in New Plymouth. Another very useful donation promised and accepted with pleasure was a score Ijoard, for use on the show ground, the gift of Alessrs AI. Squire and F. Bernard, who will supply and erect the board. . Votes of thanks were passed to the donors, and the secretary was instructed to convey this appreciation to them. The generosity of Air Bartlett, of Aramoho, in giving a miniature of his cup, to be presented to the most improved player in the thirds, was cordially acknowledged. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded a good meeting.
