Being heavily laden, the Hauraki was unable to approach close enough to get a line aboard the Indian Harbour, but is standing by to pick up any of the crew of twenty-seven if they take to the lifeboats. . , The water is rising rapidly in the holds .and the seas are pounding her hard. The gale is increasing. Captain Anderson, of the Hauraki, wirelessed to San Francisco that- the Indian Harbour was it a very bad position and rescue .is impossible without shore aid. She is breaking up rapidly, and bad sent a mesmsge to the Hauraki appealing for quick assistance or a tragedy was imminent, a® the seas were too high to laillow the launching of lifeboats. —“Sydney Sun” Cable.
