FIXTURES. May 19, 21—Wanganui J.C. Winter. June, 1 3 4 —Dunedin J.C. Winter. June 3,4, B—Auckland8 —Auckland R.C. Winter. June 6, 11 —Australian J.C. Winter. WANGANUI MEETING. ON thei acceptors. BY TELEGRAPH - 'SPECIAL TO THE STAR. WANGANUI, May 17. As usual, the aceptances (both m numbers and class) for the winter meeting: of the Wanganui Jockey Olu are good, and the racing to-morrow should be most interesting. Of: ia, large field engaged in the Purua Hack Handicap, Berintbjja .and Modest Boy should claim attention. In the absence of Peter Rosa, who •will probably contest the Wanganui Steeplechase, Little River and Eonmark .should run prominently m the Hack Steeplechase.

A good class of “chaser” is engaged in the Wanganui Steeplechase, but some of those horses accepted. for can be relied upon to do better later. lhns does not apply to Peter Rosa, who is certain, to give, a good exhibition.

For a hack event, the class engaged in the Kaitoke Hurdles is good, lit them Troilus should again run well, ■white San Pedro 'and the fast, but anexperienced, Polyphemus in ay perform to the .satisfaction of their backers.

Some promising hurdlers will be seen in action in the Century Hurdles. Ihe top-weight, Nukuniai, is well, but may not show his best form. Koauau anti Brigadier Bill each ran well at Hawera last week, but at the weights Day Bell looks certain to beat them. Another Northern in Rangitalu is well, .and his connections expect him to run prominently.

A particularly fine field will contest the Connolly Handicap. Whne the horses at the top of the handicap aie good lightweights like Orazone AUoway,’ and Seining Armour should not be overlooked by backers.

The top half of the Borough Handicap field are really good, and any one of them may win. Tukia, ridc.en by L. Morris, as certain to, race well, and Benzora, with MoTavish in the saddle, may *• again give trouble.
