FIFTY MILES OF LEVEES. THREATENED WITH BREAKS. A TOWN ISOLATED. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPY BIGHT. NEW YORK, May 15. News from New Orleans states' that practically the entire 50 miles of levee near Bayou Des Glaizes is now threatened with breaks, varying in width from 50 feet to half a mile. Five hunctreadl persons are marooned along a 12-mile stretch, and in view of the instability of the levee at this point, their position is regarded’ as extremely perilous. The entire town of Mansura, in the northern part of the Sugar Bowl territory, is cut off, and relief trains are being rushed there. Breaks west of the town of Old River aTe allowing millions of _ cubic feet of water per secoud to inundate the Sugar Bowl lands. Dr. Cline, the meteorologist, _ has announced that the rise' would diminish within a few days, in spite of the fact that the river rose four-tenths of a foot in the last 24 hours at Baton Rouge. •
