Although only part of the New South Wales loian is. underwritten, the whole is practically guaranteed with the cooperation of the Westminster Bank. The portion underwritten, assures meeting the £6,000,000 due on June 1, whatever the result of the loan. Secondly, the bank has authorised and extended an overdraft upwards of £5,000,OCX) at the current bank rate, thereby ensuring the balance maturing on July 1. The Joan gives a. shade better yield than the existing New South Wales 5 per cent, at 94. City circles, therefore, express the opinion that there is a good chance of success, largelv attributable to the institution of sinking funds.
