Hitherto little use has 'been made of the camping areas made available, and only 20 private camping parties have arrived. Invitations for applications for seats in the stands met with a poor response in all States. A gold key with a casket is to lie presented to the Duke of York for the official opening. It is madei from 15carat gold, and the Australian coat of arms appears in high relief in the centre of a. medallion on one end of the key. The shank is embellished witli a ribbon design.
SPECIAL COINAGE
MELBOURNE, May 7
Florins specially coined to commemorate the opening of Canberra will be available to visitors at the Commonwealth Bank at Canberra today. They will be available at all banks in on Monday. A special penny and half-penny stamp will also be issued on Monday.
