Newton King Ltil., Stratford branch, has just completed the purchase of a Large White sow for a client in the district at a high figure. The sow is Australian-bred and is at present awaiting shipment at Melbourne. The advent of an entirely new strain to Taranaki will be of great benefit to breeders of this class of pig, and no doubt great interest will be taken in the animal on arrival in Taranaki. An advertisement appears, in this issue drawing attention to the social and dance to be held in Ketemarae Fa next Tuesday evening. Proceeds will be devoted to the improvement of the ball. Special services will be held in the Baptist Church on Sunday in observance of “Mothers’ Day.’’ Addresses in honour of motherhood will bo given by the Rev. L. C. H. Barbour. Solos will be rendered by Miss N. M. Campbell and Mr G. W. Warren, both of Auckland.
