SIDE-CAR OUTFITS.

INCREASING POPULARITY. It is many years since the opinion was expressed! that the coming of the cheap car would wipe the motor-cycle, and especially the side-car combination, out of existence. The opinion has been reiterated time and again, but the number of motor-cycles and side-cars go on increasing, and 1 they look like continuing to do so. When it. is realised that, the motorcycle combination of about 4 h.p. ’often carries as many as four p»ssen-

'gers with a remarkable .degree of comfort and speed, this form of vehicle calls for the serious attention of the motorist of moderate means. Given a machine of good grade, a coach-built, two-passenger side-car, and a comfortable pillion seat on the hack of the motor-cycle, there is no reason why an outfit of this kindi should not prove entirely satisfactory for the family man, whether for .long or short journeys. Whatever one may .say about the unbalanced appearance of the sidecar combination, or the apparent disadvantages for the riders, this class of vehicle remains unsurpassed for speedy and economical 1 travel; and 'though .hundreds of attempts ha.ve ’been made to combine, the features of the side-car outfit with those of the small car, the public- is unswerving in Its affection for the -combination in its original 1 form.
