MANGATOKI.
t (Fro Our Own Correspondent.) CONCERT AND DANCE On Wednesday evening the local Tennis Club held a concert and dance in the hall. The performers were faced by a large audience, which showed the great interest taken in the club. Songs were sung by Mesdames Rankin and Garden, and Messrs Burns, Silver, Carson, and Carter; a pianoforte duet by Mesdames Douglas and Duncan, a dialogue by Messrs B. Pease and G. Sulyberger; a play by Misses Pease, Lambic Astburv, Mrs. Douglas and Mr. B. Pease and recitations by Miss M. Burrows, all of which were greatly appreciated. The National Anthem brought the concert to an end, after which the hall was cleared for dancing. A dainty supper was served by the committee. THE WEATHER. A severe thunderstorm passed ovei the district on Tuesday evening, interfering with the electric lighting and telephone. It is considered as the most severe storm ever felt in the district. PERSONAL. Mr. N. Foy returned to Wellington on Tuesday morning. The old girls of the school intend forming a basketball team. Mr. and Mrs. VMeGuinness have returned from their trip to Wellington.
