PALMERSTON N., April 29. •‘Breaking and entering premises seems to be a sort of mania; with me, I cannot help it,” was the statement made to detective officers by William Victor Has lam, aged 20, who pleaded guilty at the court this morning to charges of breaking and entering and one of theft from a- dwelling. The accused, told the detectives that be came from England in March of last year, going, to work at Linton. Tools were found on him which were intended for further housebreaking, said Detective Russell. The accused was committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for sentence.
