BASIC WAGE.
ALTERATIONS IN THE COMMONWEALTH. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION -COPYBIGUT Received 11.15 a.m. to-day. MELBOURNE, April 29. A decrease in the basie wage under the Commonwealth Arbitration Court awards comes into'operation, excepting at Perth and at Adelaide, on May 1. In Melbourne and Sydney the reduction .will be one shilling weekly, in Brisbane 2s 6d and in Hobart 6d. In Adelaide there will an increase of Is 6d, while at Perth the rate remains as at present.
