The Native- Land Court, under the presidency of Judge Brown, is at present sitting in Hawera. The results were as below: Mr O. Goodson, who has been a member of the Hawera Acclmatisation. Society for thirty years, was conplimerited last evening at the meeting of the Hawera Acclimatisation Society upon his work in the interests of ae acclimatisation matter* in South Taranaki. A motion of appreciation of his services was recorded on the meeting. Mr Goodson said that 43 years ago he and his brother Jack hatched out- 200 fish on their property, and liberated them in streams They thrived and did well till they were fished out by too many rods on the water. The regular monthly isooial of the Hawera Amateur Operatic Society was held last evening in the Savoy Tea Rooms. There was a good attendance of members. The following performers contributed musical and elocutionary items: Mesdames Goodsom and Joll, Miss M. Dixon; Messrs G. Hessell and V. Powell.
