SOUTHERN JUNIORS. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. A meeting of the committee of the Southern Division of the Taranaki Referees Association was held in Hawera last night. Present: Messrs A. L. Glapham (chair), M. Bailey, K. McNae, W. G. Whittington, A. Elgar, F. Atkins, A. E. Spratt, and J. J. Goodwin (secretary). The Taranaki Referees’ Association advised of a meeting to be held in Stratford on May 1 to discuss the amendments to the rules, and invited all referees to attend. Word was received that Eltham and Patea hacl withdrawn .their fourth grade teams, while Eltham had entered a third grade team. The Manaia-Opunake group, which held a meeting at Manaia- last night, advised that it had been decided to postpone the junior fixtures until May 7 on account of the territorial camp. Mr Goodwin said lie thought the matches in the Southern group could be carried on, and the following referees were appointed for next Saturday : Juniors. Hawera v. Alton, at Hawera, Mr H. A. K. McKnae. Patea v. Athletic, at Hawera, Mr. M. Bailey. Third Grade. Hawera v. Patea, at Eatea, Mr Tom Sheahan. Central (Hawera) v. Okaiawa, at Okaiawa, Mr, E. Hurley. Eltham, a bye. Fourth Grade Hawera v. Waimate, at Hawera, Mr A, E. Spratt. Kaponga. v. High School B, at Kaponga, Mr W. Bicheno. High School A, a hye.
