TO OUTLAW WAR.
UNITED CHURCHES’ EFFORT.
MANIFESTO BEING PREPARED.
(BY TELEGRAPH— press association.) WELLINGTON, April 26. Following negotiations between the Public Questions Committee of the Presbyterian Church and other churches a committee has been formed to take action in the interests of peace and for the outlawry of war. The following representation has been decided on: Church of England, four delegates; Presbyterian, five; Catholic, . five; Methodist, four; Baptist, three; Congregational, three; Salvation Army, two; Society of Friends, two. The Church of Christ .has not yet reported. The committee ha® appointed the following officers*: Chairman, Dr. Gibb; secretary, Rev. John A. Allan; treasurer, Mr. P. J. G’Regan. A subcommittee has been appointed to* draft a manifesto to indicate the lines of work to a meeting of the full committee shortly.
