A meeting of the committee in connection with the Tawhiti sports was held last evening, and, despite inclement weather, there was a. representative attendance of members. Belore proceeding with formal business the president (Mr. J. B. Laurenson) moved a motion of condolence to Mrs. N. C. Young in the recent death of her husband ; this wa.s carried ill silence. The .statement of receipts and payments was received .and adopted, and payment of accounts confirmed. A nett profit of £46 12s 5d was disclosed, members expressing gratification at the result achieved. Heart v votes of thanks were passed fo alt those who- had in any way assisted towards the success of the function.
l't wais decided to hold next: year’s sports during the same period as the recent fixture.
Several suggestions- were made and considered towards .improving next year’s gathering.
