MR. RAMSAY MACDONALD.
CONDITION OF HIS HEALTH. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. WASHINGTON, April 23. A message from Philadelphia etates that rumours that Mr. Rariisay MacDonald lias suffered a serious collapse and 'his condition is grave, were circulated here to-night, although the physician’* official statement after Mr. MacDonald had been taken to the Jefferson Hospital indicated that he was suffering from a sore throat, blit was resting eomortably. It is understood a group ol specialists held a consultation concerning the .illness, which arose from a severe cold contnaeted when in Washington. Mr. MacDonald’s daughter refused an invitation from Philadelphia friends to spend the week-end in the suburbs, in order to be with her father, who, while lunching with the Ethical Culture Society, showed signs of being ill and spent the night at the society’s rooms, and was thereafter transferred to hospital. NEW YORK, April 24.
News from Philadelphia states that Mr. Ramsay MacDonald is resting, and that his condition is much improved, permitting Mis* MacDonald to come here to deliver, by radio, the address which her father was scheduled to make to-day. _____
