WHAT’S THE IDEA.

CAMOUFLAGED CAVALRY. GERMANY’S HORSEMEN. LONDON, April IS. ■ So-called “Societies-, of Equitation” that have sprung up in occupied Germany have led to correspondence between the Inter-Allied Rhineland Commission and the- Reich’s Minister. The societies’ activities show remarkable finesse, in which, while developing horsemanship to the extent required of a. cavalryman, they outwardly do not infringe the- occupation regulations. The societies declare that they have not effected any drilling, hut- it is difficult to divide “haute- ecole” and cavalry training. The societies declare that they are- solely concerned with the improvement- of horse breeding. ! Nevertheless (says the- Cologne correspondent of “The Times”), it may he pointed out that it only exists in the occupied territory, and also that such training has; been increased beyond the requirements of horse breeding.
