It was stated at Wellington yesterday by the Minister of Mines, the Hon. ,T. G. Anderson, that the rescue brigade is putting up a stopping to isolate the rise in the workings in the Dobson mine and to prevent the possibility of any outbreak of lire in those workings. Arrangements would then be made to start a fan for ventilation, and pumping operations would be carried on until the bodies of the miners had been recovered. The latest reports, lie states, _ indicate that the mine is not so seriously damaged as was at first thought.
