DEPORTATION.
WRONGFUL ARREST. PLAINTIFFS WIN CASE. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. SYDNEY. April 12. The jury awarded Airs Johnston £6O against the Commonwealth Government as the result of the wrongful arrest of her husband. Immediately the case was concluded a claim was made by Airs Walsh, wife of Thomas Walsh, for £SOOO compensation from the- same defendants, and was commenced. This action also arises out of Deportation Act, proceedings, under which Thomas "Walsh w T as arrested and detained pt Garden Island. A settlement has been reached _in Airs Walsh’s case. Plaintiff accepting £6O damages l and 20 guineas medical expenses.
