This is in addition to our USUAL DEPOT at CRITERION GARAGE, Regent Street (Lysons, Foord and Keilar, Ltd./ where the cars are housed overnight, and which will still remain our STARTING OFF POINT FOR ALL CARS. From our office ’phone in Egmont Building we have an EXTENSION ’PHONE into the driver’s bedroom (’phone 2577), and another driver has the ’phone at his residence, c/o Mr Blake (‘phone 2219), so that INTENDING PASSENGERS can book at any time of the day or night. Having now a much more frequent service we can deal with increased passenger traffic. and we knew from the popularity of our WANG AN UI-WELLINGTON service (130 nailer for £1) that reduced fares on the Hawera section would bring INCREASED PATRONAGE. It was our enterprise in establishing s service 44 years ago in face of adverse circumstances, and later our further enterprise by making a motor connection with ASHHURST, enabling passengers to get from New Plymouth to NAPIER and Wairarapa IN ONE DAY, that has been such a boon to those who have only a limited time available for travelling.
