.MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Eltliam Pubic Library committee was held in che Municipal Building last night. Those present were: Messrs H. G. McDonald (.chair), L. Egan- (secretary), F. H. Townsend ,A. Chrystal, H. Cover, I. J. Biidger, and Mrs Wilson. An apology was received from Mrs D. S-yme. The librarian (Mrs L. Prideaux) wrote resigning her position as librarian. — Aee.pted with regret. It was also derided to thank Mrs Prideaux for her efficien: and conscientious service during the period of her employment. The s: lection committee reported that twelve new books were added to the library during the month. It was decided to request the selection furnish a monthly report covering the names of books, and their authors, also the books that were discarded. Th. chairman submitted a copy of a letter which lie suggested srev. 1-1 be sent to non-subscribers and new arrivals to the town inviting membership, and outlinimr the charges. The suggestion was agreed to. It was 'decided to- advertise the vacancy of librarian, and call applications for the position. A new .set of conditions of employment for the librarian were drawn up by the committee. Accounts amounting to £7 6>s 3d were passed for payment. DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR.
A young man named Arthur Milton wa.s arrested in the Main Street, Eltham. on Saturday evening at 10.16 o’clock, by Constable Townsend, for disorderly behaviour, and was brought before the court yesterday morning. He pleaded guilty and was fined £2 by the presiding justice, Mr. I. .T. Bridger. J.P.
