The Imperial Tobacco Company, Lid., the £42,660,666: concent whicn controls 20 other companies, announced yesterday a final dividend of 0 per cent., plus.a bonus, ot Is Od tree ot income tax. It follows the 50 per cent, dividend of Carreras and the 25 per cent, of the Briti.sli-Amerioan Tobacco Company, and illustrate* once again the- eno: mulls pi ofits made- by tobacco concern.*. . The Imperial Tobacco Company lias an issued ordinary -hare capital of £29,591.667, so that- the dividend of 24 per cent, and the bonus mean that more, than £9,460.000 lias; been paid to ordinary shareholders tor the year, and. a* the dividend is paid free of income tax, the amount paid by the com,pany to the tax c-o-llector representsanother £2.650.600, 'ldle total profits have not yet been stated, but £500.000 has been put t<> reserve. £821,000 carried forward, and £250.000 allotted to pensioners.
