MANGATOKI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FAREWELL SOCIAL. On Thursday evening a farewell, in fhe form of a delightful surprise party was held at' the heme of Miss Doris Nicholas, who leaves shortly to take up duties in the liawera Hospital. The combined Bible classes, Afaiigatoki. and Eltham, had arrangements well in hand, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. The programme comprised of dancing, games, competitions, and items. Songs were given by Miss K. Lambie and Mr. Ft. Lambic, and a recitation by Miss D. Cross. The winners of the competitions were Miss P. Parker and Miss D. Cross, while Miss Sulzberger and Miss Perry supplied the music for dancing. After a dainty supper the Rev. Isaacson, on behalf of the Bible class, presented Miss Nicholas with a large leather-bound volume of “The Works of Tennyson” and also wished her every success in her new work. Miss Nicholas suitably replied. The singing of “For She’s a Jelly Good Fellow’’ and “Auld Lang Syne" brought the evening to a close. Miss F. fnnes, of Unworn, was among the visitors present.
