SHAREMILKER’S FAILURE.

ESTATE OF HENRY ZIAIAIEIRAIAN

A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Henry Zimmerman, labourer, of Hawera, wa.s called for today, but a® only one creditor was represented, the meeting lapsed for want of a quorum. The Deputy-Official Assignee (Mr. K, S. Sage), bankrupt, and Air. D. 0. Smart (representing All J. Dingle), were present. Bankrupt’s statement showed unsecured debts amounting to' £99 lO.s 6d. There was also a contingent liability to the International Harvester Co. oi £IOO. On tlie credit side there was furniture valued at £2O, and properly listed as tools £3, leaving a deficiency of £76 10s 6d. The unsecured creditors were: Burgess, Fraser and C'o., £23; O’Dea and Bayley, £6; Bennett and Sutton, £1; J. Dingle, £2; Curtis and Spragg, £-1 17s; Farmers’ Co-op. Organisation Society. Hawera, £3; Taranaki Power Board, Filth a in, £l4 12 s (hi; \V. Boughey, Dannevirke; £l6; Taranaki. Daily News, Now Plymouth, £4 Is. Bankrupt in the course of his written statement said that some live years ago he had been obliged to file his petition in bankruptcy owing to failing in a partnership with his brother, on a farm at Kaimata. Alter that he had worked on a. weekly wage for one year with Mr. Alex Corrigan, at Waitui. He then took over a sharemilking contract with Mr. J. R. Corrigan, at Fraser Road, Hawera. There he remained for two seasons. The first year ho had practically paid his way, but tlie second season, owing to his assistant- meeting with an accident, his wile had been obliged to help with the milking, and had taken .ill, as a result of which lie was put to great expense, as it became necessary to inst-al machines, or leave the farm. He put in machines at his awn expense, but, unfortunately, owing to the fall in prices, and the terms of the sharemilking contract being cut down, he was quite unable to pay his way. Several creditor® having issued judgment summonses, he had no recourse but again file his petition. He was at present splitting firewood in the hope of making a living, but could not make any offer to his creditors.
