PRECIOUS STONE BILL.
SOUTH AFRICAN MEASURE

The Government has tabled a new 7 Precious Stone Bill. The measure practically amounts to the nationalisation of the alluvial diamond industry. It especially prohibits partnerships, syndicates and companies from operating in any form on diggings, and provides for the confiscation of claims already being operated by such.
