REDUCED F-uRES. S.O.S. have not Deen COMPELLED BY COMPETITION, as some people think, to reduce the fare: it is a natural outcome of our expansion. Having now a much more frequent service wo can deal with increased passenger traffic, and we knew from the popularity of our WANGANUI-WELLINGTON service (130 mileo for £1) that reduced fares on the Hawera section would bring INCREASED PATRONAGE.
