HAWERA HOSPITAL BOARD.
LEVY, SUBSIDY AND RATE.
At the monthly meeting of the Eltham County Council on Saturday, Cr A. L. Campbell furnished the following information on Hawera Hospital Board matters in their relation to 331tham: — Schedule of levy for the year ending March 31, 1928.
Total £12,763 16 0 The lew for the previous year was £12,052. The capital value for the whole Hawera Hospital Board district for two years was: 1926, £11,550,566; 1927, £10,383,049 —a difference of £1,167,515. The Government subsidy in 1926 was £7373 for maintenance and £5072 for capital. Last year’s rate was 2s 2ld, and this year it will be 2s 54d per £IOO capital value. The Eltham County’s contribution of £2BO 8s 4d for 1926 will be £272 8s for 1927. Collection of patients’ fees for the year ended March 31 by the board is the highest in New Zealand (£5128), being over £IOOO above last year’s figures.
