NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. BETTER REPRESENTATION. (by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. 7 CHRISTCHURCH, April 8. At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-night, it was resolved: “That the chairman be requested to submit to the management committee, a scheme embodying the principle of having the direct representation of each association at the annual meeting of the council.’’ The scheme will then be submitted to the associations and, if adopted by them, steps will be taken to amend the constitution of the council.

CHRISTCHURCH, April 9. “It will end for all time this cry of ‘Too much Christchurch.’ These men will come down and will have a say in the election of the Management Committee, and join in the discussion at the annual meeting. It is a big scheme and means money, hut I think we - can do it.” Mr D. Reese, chairman of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council, made these remarks in submitting to last night’-s meeting of the committee a suggestion that- affiliated associations should appoint a delegate to attend the annual meeting of the council.. the council to pay the expenses of the delegates to Christchurch.

Other member® approved, of the scheme generally, and decided to discuss it at a later date.
