TIMBER MILL DESTROYED (H y TELEGRAPH —PRF.99 ASSOCIATION.) TAIHAPE, April 4. A timber mill at- Omatane, owned by C. 0. Gibbs, was totally destroyed by tire on Sunday morning. The mill was the most up-to-date on the Main Trunk line. The origin of the tire is unknown. The insurances are £SOO on the building, and £ISOO on the plant in the South British Office. Thirty men are out of work as a result of the fire. OUTSIDE THE BOUNDARY". CHRISTCHURCH, April 5. While the owner, Mis. .Moss, tva* absent in the city, an eight-roomed wooden house in Papanui was destroyed bv fire yesterday. The place was outside the city boundary, and the brigade had no water to fight the fire. The insurance on the building was £750 in the Union Office.
