HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL. NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER. 'jV r OTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Hawera Borough Council held on TUESDAY, the 15th day of March, 1927, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at a meeting of the Council to be held oa WEDNESDAY, the 20tli day of APRIL, J 927„ at the Council Chambers. High Street, Hawera:— RESOLUTION. The Hawera Borough Council hereby makes by Special Order the following By-laws under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” and its amendments, and in exercise and pursuance of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, and directs that these By-laws shall come into force on the first day of May, 1927. The said By-laws arc signed by the Mayor and Town Clerk for the purpose of identification. The object and purport of the proposed By-laws is as follows: — I. The' short title is “The Hawera Borough By-laws (Amendment), 1927.'’ 11. These By-laws are to be read with “The Hawera Borough By-laws, 1913,” and amendments, and the penalty provisions thereof shall apply. 111. “The Hawera Borough By-laws, 1913,“ are amended: When vehicles are assembled or waiting at one place the driver of each vehicle shall comply with directions given by Inspector or Police Constable as regards the placing, moving and ordering of liis vehicle. IV. “The Hawera Borough By-laws (Amendment), 1919,” are amended: Time motors may be left standing in certain streets in centre of Borough (viz.. High Street from Albion Street to Victoria Street, Union Street from High Street to Nelson Street, Princes Street from Nelson Street to CourtHouse, Regent Street from High Street to Star Office) is increased from .15 minutes to 45 minutes, and time limit in other parts of the Borough is dispensed with. V. “The Hawera Borough Amendment By-law, .1921,“ is amended: Subclause 3 of Clause XII. is repealed and the following substituted: XII. (3) The driver of any motor car, motor lorry, motor delivery van or other motor vehicle who shall stop in High Street between Albion Street and Victoria Street, or in Union Street between High Street and Nelson Street, or in Princes Street between Nelson Street and the southern side of the Post Office, or in Regent Street . between High Street and the southern side of Little Regent Street, shall stop such ear, lorry, van or vehicle not more than 2 feet from the kerb of the left or near side of the said Street; XII. (3a) Drivers stopping elsewhere within the Borough shall stop as near as practicable to the Icerb on the left or near side.
VI. "The ITawora Borough Amendment Bv-lnw, 1021,” as amended by Division' VI. of “The Hawera Borough By-laws (Amendment), 1925, is amended by repealing sub-clause I. of clause XIT. enacted by Division VT. and the following new By-law is enacted in lieu thereof: —No person shall drive any motor car. motor lorry, motor delivery van, motor cycle or other motor vehicle across the intersection or junction of two streets whether public or private streets or round the corner of any street or private street at a greater speed than ten miles per hour. A full copy of the proposed new Bylaws is deposited at the Offices of the Hawera Borough Council, High Street, Hawera, and is open to the inspection of the public without fee during office hours until 4 p.m. on the said 20th day of April. 1027.
