NOTES BY “LIAHTED.” The weather was fine, but cold, with a strong wind blowing on the Egmont coui so this morning. The plough, was in good order and was used for galloping. iienzora went half a nine very pleasingly in 50sec. On advice of weights it will be decided whether Benzoin goes to Auckland or Feilding. Bonogne was given three-quarter pace work. Partaga and Gaillard were mates over four furlongs, Gaillard finished in front in 50 l-ssec. Sih ermine was indulged in half pace work, as was Orazone. These two may be hurried along the reverse way round to-morrow morning. Lady Bentinck made her first appearance on the track since Bulls, and was gi\en exercise work only. Lady Desmond and Barryanda went a good seven furlongs without making time. Morena and Enare did strong pace work together. Tlie Lamb, looking in good shape, ran six furlongs by himself, and did it well in 1.184. Reremoaiia and Lady Cavendish dashed over four fu;longs in 50see., Reremoaiia showing to advantage over the concluding stage. Dan no ran half a mile alone in 51 sec
Mr. 8. Smith’s pacer Great Kevin, which is’iinder the care of 0. Richards, lias shown much improvement as a saddle horse lately, and his first appearance in this class or rate will lie looked i'or with interest.
T. Tito, whose apprenticeship term is just about concluded, is being retained by his old employer, J. Erver, who will have first rail 011 his services for the current season.
