Filipino leaders here express the conviction that the political ascendancy of the Cantonese Nationalists will lead to a new balance of power in the Orient, counter-balancing Japan’s previous superior political position,. Mr Pedro Guevara, Resident Com missioner for the Philippines in the United States Congress, said the National aspiration of the Filipino peop'e have been spurred bv the Chinese, successes, and a campaign for independence from United States supervision would consequently result. The Fur pinos felt that the triumph of the Chinese Nationalist movement would mean the failure of the Imperialistic policy of Japan, which would then liecome a. factor to promote democracy m the Far East.
