FIRE BRIGADES.
OUT-OF-DATE COMPETITIONS.
(by TELEGRAPH" “PRESS ASSOCIATION. 1 MASTER-TON, March 30. Speaking at the annual re-union of the Masterton Fire Brigade to-night, Inspector T. T. Hugo regretted that the annual fire brigade competitions were deteriorating in praetical use. The gear which was used, he said, was never used at fires and was used merely to continue the old-fashioned methods. He hoped that those controlling the United Association would endeavour to effect a much needed remedy and institute competitions which would be of practical use to firemen.
